Juana Davis

February 10, 1941 – February 20, 2025
Obituary of Juana Davis
IN THE CARE OF

Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries

Juana Davis peacefully passed away on February 20 in New Orleans, after a long battle with dementia. She was born on February 10, 1941, in her beloved hometown of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, to Alfonso and Juana Romero. There, she pursued her studies and began a career as a cosmetologist before discovering her true passion as the owner of jewelry, fashion, and gift boutiques.

Juana married Robert (Bob) D. Scott, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and together they had two sons, who were her pride and joy. In the early years of their marriage, they explored opportunities in the U.S. before returning to San Miguel, where Juana’s boutique businesses flourished for many years. After Bob’s unexpected passing, Juana moved to be closer to her sons, settling in Harlingen, TX. She brought with her a deep love for the culture, beauty, and artistry of her ancestral home, opening San Miguel Gifts and quickly becoming a cherished part of the local community. Her shop was her sanctuary, a place where she shared the spirit of San Miguel and delighted in hearing about her customers' lives. One special customer, J.O. (Bill) Davis, eventually became her husband, and together they shared 15 wonderful years.

As Juana joins her husbands, parents and brother, Alfonso, in eternal peace, she will be deeply mourned and remembered as a loving mother by her cherished sons, Robert (Gabriela) Scott of New Orleans and Richard Scott of Harlingen; a spoiling grandmother by Isabel, Elena, Joseph and Alicia Scott; a dear sibling by Sergio, Mercedes (Juan Manuel Rosas) and Agustin; a sweet Tia by Juan Manuel, Roux, Renata, Luis Alfonso and Mercedes; and a caring listener by many customers and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to the Marine Military Academy (https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=E349786&id=5).
