Julie Ann Calongne

Julie Ann Calongne passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the age of 59. Daughter of Joseph Gayle Calongne, Sr. and the late Barbara Brehm Calongne. She is survived by her treasured companion of 33 years, Martin Purdy; her loving sister, Leslie Calongne; and devoted brothers, Joel Calongne (Joy) and Chris Calongne (Lisa). She is also survived by three nieces, Bridget and Kayla Calongne and Kimberly Tara (Chance); two nephews, Brent (Amy) and Michael Calongne; one great niece, Molly Jane Calongne; her lifelong friend, Donna Daigrepont Julius; and her beloved fur baby, Benson. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Julie was a 1975 graduate of Grace King High School and a retiree of Shell Oil Company after 30 years of service and a former member and President of Explorer Post 296. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time.
