
Junie Kay Denny-DiGiovanni died peacefully in Luling, Louisiana on Jauary 31, 2015 at the age of 73 after a long bout with Alzheimer’s Disease. Junie Kay is survived by her husband, Michael Philip DiGiovanni, Destrehan, LA; daughter, Jonni G. Welling-Trtilek, Denver, CO, son-in-law, Milos Trtilek, grandsons, Cole Michael Welling and John Casey Welling, Denver, CO, brothers, Warren L. Denny, Stamford, CT and David W. Denny of Flagstaff, AZ. Junie Kay is preceded in death by mother, Joan Louise Denny of LaPlace, LA (formerly of Kansas City, KS) and sister, Gayle Denny-Faucheux of Gramercy, LA. Junie Kay Denny-DiGiovanni was born on September 16, 1941 in Kansas City, KS to Joan Louise Hagemarf'Denny and William Denny. She graduated from Turner High School. After moving to LaPlace, LA in 1980 Junie Kay began working for Bunge Corp in Destrehan, LA where she retired in 2004. It is here she met her future husband, Michael Philip DiGiovanni. Over the years Junie Kay was known for her volunteer work with her church, local elementary school and The American Red Cross. When younger she was an avid athlete in golf, volleyball and even tackled sailing even though she could not swim. She was known as being dedicated to her loved ones and very caring both with people and animals. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
