Katherine Pollock Ferrara

Katherine Mary Pollock Ferrara departed this life peacefully in her sleep on September 23rd at 12:30 AM at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Carlo Russell Ferrara. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Anne Marie Villarrubia; her precious and treasured grandchildren, Kayla Anne Himel Bolls (John Quinn Bolls Jr.) and Ashley Marie Ortiz (Frank Dean Timphony); and her son-in-heart, Marc Anthony Ortiz. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Katherine Harper Pollock and Robert Henry Pollock, Jr., and is mourned by her dear sister, Bobbie Jean Pollock Dianis, along with her many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the special caregivers who cared for “Ms. Kat” with such love and devotion. They became more than caregivers, they became a source of comfort, companionship, and reassurance to her and to the entire family. Thank you for every kindness, every gentle touch, and every moment that was given to her. The family will always be grateful for the wonderful care they provided.

In accordance with Kathy’s wishes, the family is mourning privately; no services will be held. Those who wish to honor Kathy are encouraged to remember the love, conversations, laughter, and memories shared with her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Orleans Botanical Garden at City Park, a place that held special meaning to Kathy.

Kathy’s girls are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support received during this difficult time and appreciate everyone’s understanding and respect for her wishes.
