

Born in New Orleans on July 17, 1936, Toots was a lifelong daughter of the city she loved so dearly. She graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart and later attended Maryville College of the Sacred Heart in St. Louis, Missouri, an education that shaped her enduring devotion to faith, service, and community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen Loker Gibbons and John Francis Gibbons, Jr., her brothers John Francis Gibbons III and David Cartan Loker Gibbons, and by her beloved husband, Henri Mortimer "Tim" Favrot, Jr.
Toots is survived by her four children: James Favrot (Sheila), Kathleen Favrot Van Horn (Charlie), Semmes Favrot (Catherine), and Caroline Favrot Trube (John), twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.
A woman of deep faith and boundless generosity, Toots was devoted to the Academy of the Sacred Heart, serving for many years on its board and in numerous volunteer roles. Her support of Sacred Heart and of countless individuals and charitable organizations was enthusiastic, selfless, and unwavering. Her generosity truly knew no bounds.
Christmas was Toots' favorite time of year. She was a hearty and generous gift giver and a relentless gift list requester, finding immense joy in delighting others and ensuring every loved one felt remembered and celebrated. An expert grammarian, she loved the English language, and her grandchildren can attest that no grammatical errors ever got past her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to those who lovingly cared for Toots over many years: Jane Guevara, Becky Daniels, Rosalia Santana, Sid Roussell, Linda Clayton, and Dr. Charles Smith. They supported her faithfully through sickness, health, and hair emergencies and were a source of constant comfort and friendship.
A funeral mass will be said on Thursday, December 18 at 11:00 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with visitation preceding at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Toots' memory may be made to the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré, or the charity of one's choice.
Above all, Toots loved her community, her faith, and her family. She will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity of spirit, and the enduring legacy of love she leaves behind.
