She was born in New Orleans on March 25, 1953. Kathy attended St. Francis of Assisi grammar school, was an alumni of both St. Mary’s Dominican Class of 1971 and Touro School of Nursing Class of 1974. She worked as a registered nurse at East Jefferson Emergency Room for 10 years.
Kathy is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 52 years, Donald LaBruyere; her daughters, Celeste and Lindsay LaBruyere; her father, Thomas McCann; her brothers, Patrick McCann (Celeste), the Rev. Thomas McCann, III; her sister, Julie McCann; and many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy McCann and her mother, Lucille McCann.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
