Kathlyn Fonte Delarosa Carrier

Kathlyn Fonte Delarosa Carrier passed away on November 14, 2022 at the age of 97. She was born on March 24, 1925 in New Orleans and worked as a secretary. Kathryn was a member of NARF and AARP and was a volunteer with East Jefferson Hospital for many years. Kathlyn and her husband, Vern, travelled all over the United States in their RV from Washington State to Tennessee. They even traveled to a craft fair in Gatlinburg to sell their handmade leather items together. In addition to travelling, they enjoyed square dancing, and Kathlyn made several of their outfits.

Kathlyn is predeceased by: her first husband of 2 years, Manuel Delarosa; her second husband of 25 years, Vern Carrier; her parents, Dominic A. Fonte and Gertrude Ryan Fonte; her sister, Gloria Fonte Morzloff (George); her brothers, Dominic A. Fonte, Jr., and Peter Fonte (Janie); and her niece, Michele Fonte Ural and her nephew, Glenn Fonte. She is survived by: her son, Michael Anthony Delarosa (Jacqueline); her grandchildren, Robin Delarosa Johnson (Stephen), Kelly Delarosa Boudreaux (Daniel), and Renee Delarosa Clark (William); her great-grandchildren, Amy Boudreaux Holmes (Brandon), Kevin Johnson, Evie Boudreaux Bingham (Michael), Zachary Boudreaux (Kara), Katherine Johnson Weyenberg (Collin), Gracie Johnson, Piersson Clark, Isabella Clark, Sophia Clark, and Luciana Clark; her great-great- grandchildren, Cecily Johnson, Jude Bingham, Gabriel Bingham, and River Holmes; sister-in-law, Rosemary Fonte; her nieces and nephews, Kenneth Fonte (Colleen), Marie Fonte Poche, Michael Fonte (Loretta), Barbara Fonte Beckham and William “Mickey” Ural; and several great-nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give their special thanks to Colonial Oaks Living Center and to St. Catherine’s Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 9:00am until mass begins at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
