

She was the daughter of the late Philip Donatien Lorio, Jr. and is survived by her loving mother, Helen Mayeux Lorio; her son, Christopher Shane Lorio (Laura); and her beloved grandchildren, Reagan, Carly, and Brendan. She is also survived by her brother, Philip D. Lorio III (the late Kathryn Venturatos); her niece, Elisabeth Lorio Baer (Jason) and their children, Carter and Caitlyn; and her nephew, Philip D. Lorio IV (Megan) and their children, Bennett and Nell.
Kathryn attended Ursuline Academy in New Orleans and worked for more than 40 years at S.P. Richards, where she was known for her loyalty, dedication, and strong work ethic.
Family was the center of Kakkie’s life. She was a devoted mother and adored being a grandmother. She expressed her love through caring for others and through her cooking, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and memorable meals.
Kakkie will be remembered for her selflessness, gentle presence, and the deep, unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the feeling of home she created for all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Kathryn’s life on Monday, January 26 at Lake Lawn Funeral Home in Metairie, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow.
