

Kenny a devoted, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, uncle, brother, and loyal friend peacefully left this world Thursday October 1, 2026. He was 87 years old. He was a man of deep faith with a solid commitment to his family. A true Renaissance man, “Q-ball” to many influenced, impacted and mentored so many souls he left to carry his legacy. He lived a life full of extraordinary accomplishments and quiet miracles.
He leaves his beloved wife Mardel Richard Kuebel, daughters Colleen K. Lewis (Mike), Sandra Ann Kuebel, Karen K. Cameron (Michael), Holly K. Mentz (Frederick), stepdaughter, Brittany Hogan Ford (Harrison), and his stepson Robert Diliberto (Katherine). His adored grandchildren John Colin Berthelot (Melissa), Meredith Kuebel Mentz M.D., Jon Cameron, Conner Alexander Berthelot, Mason Ann Mentz, Hayes McConnell Mentz, Ivy Ford, Ames Ford, and Wallace Ford, and his great grandchild Reid Berthelot.
As a younger man he attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans, St. Leo College Preparatory School, and Louisiana State University, where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon, after which he joined the United States Coast Guard.
In the 1960’s he started his real estate career and his family of four little girls, whom he adored. He taught Real Estate Principles at Loyola University, developed numerous office and industrial properties all while operating a successful real estate appraisal and valuation firm. Over his eight decades he proudly served on many boards holding leadership positions in real estate, financial, and political genres. He held the MAI designation awarded by the Appraisal Institute and the well-respected SIOR designation.
His uncanny market insight, combined with quick wit, and a legendary memory made him a respected real estate advisor, developer, and appraiser impacting generations of industry professionals over the span of his life. He was instrumental in the development of Elmwood Industrial Park and recognized with a street named after him, Kuebel Street.
One of the highlights in Ken’s construction contributions to the community was the 1998 building of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel at St. Francis Xavier Church where he was a lifelong parishioner, benefactor, Eucharistic Minister and proudly recognized with the Order of St. Louis.
Ken was one of a family of seven, born to Joseph Owen Kuebel and Stella Hayes Kuebel, all of whom predeceased him including his siblings Joseph Owen Kuebel, Jr, DDS (Edith), Conrad Michael Kuebel (Lise), Robert Gerard Kuebel (Emily), Jane Lee Bosworth (Harold) Joanne Kuebel Williams, Eileen Webber (Doug). He is also predeceased by his wife Kay Conner Kuebel (2000).
He was an avid golfer, fisherman, yachtsman, and storyteller and long-standing member of The New Orleans Country Club , the Southern Yacht Club, and several carnival organizations for many years. But most of all he enjoyed his family, friends ,grands, great grand and his loyal, furry baby, Brie.

Family and Friends may come together to celebrate Kenneth at a memorial Mass on Monday, October 12, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Road Metairie, Louisiana 70005. Visitation 10am -Noon. Funeral Mass to follow at noon.
Internment will take place with immediate family.
The family requests donations to the charity of your choice in Ken’s names in lieu of flowers to Bridge House Grace House, St Francis Xavier Church, or The American Cancer Society.
