Kenneth J. Rabalais

January 27, 1943January 15, 2018

Kenneth (Ken) John Rabalais Sr. passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the age of 74 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife Sandra Goodwin Moffatt Rabalais; sons John J. Rabalais, Kenneth (Kenny) Rabalais Jr.(Jennifer), Kirby J. Rabalais (Chelsey) and C. Todd Moffatt (Catherine); sisters Alice Culotta and Kathleen Grace Vedros. grandchildren Alexander (Alex) and Ashton Rabalais and Nicholas, Hayden and Sophia Moffatt. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents Kirby and Myrtle Rabalais; sisters Joyce Ford and Jean Ann Dixon Norton. He was born and raised in New Orleans and graduated from and played baseball for McNeese University. Ken coached at Chalmette High School and after, served as Vice President of the St. Bernard School Board for 12 years. He joined Allstate as an Insurance agent for 30+ years and moved to Mandeville where he lived until his death. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Ken’s favorite pastime was going to the beach with family and friends. He will be missed but never forgotten. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 11:00am. and the burial will take place at All Saints Mausoleum at 2:00pm.
