She earned an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies and Associates Degree in Graphic Arts.
Kimberley fell in love with New Orleans the very first time she visited and knew it was meant to be her forever home. She loved music, art, and the joy of being surrounded by people she loved, especially her forever partner, Vaughn, she was truly the life of the party. With a heart as open as her front porch, she never met a stranger, only new family. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome, whether with a warm hello, a good laugh, or conversation that made you feel right at home.
Kimberley will be remembered for her deep love of life, her cherished friends and family, and the kindness, warmth, and joy she shared so freely with everyone lucky enough to know her.
Kimberley was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Lucas and her father, Garey Gedrose.
Survivors include her partner, of 15 years, Vaughn Schmitt; brother, Garey Gedrose Jr (Darcy); nieces, Marissa O’Leary (Ethan) and Rachel Glandorf (Evan); great nieces, Avery, Allison, and Aubrey O’Leary; uncle, George Byrd (Linda); stepmother, Jackie Gedrose; and stepfather, Bobby Lucas.
Kimberley will be laid to rest on the Schmitt Family plot in Metairie Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
