It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lance Joseph Lenfant, who departed this life on March 5, 2025, at the age of 44. A proud native of New Orleans, Lance was known for his unwavering devotion to family, his strong work ethic, and his passion for the great outdoors, gaming, and music.
Born on October 23, 1980, at Lakeside Hospital in Metairie to Louis and Angelina Lenfant (née Uddo), Lance was raised in Lake Vista, where he built a lifetime of cherished memories. He was the beloved younger brother of Brian and the protective elder brother of Ashley and Laura. His family heritage was steeped in deep-rooted traditions, with his paternal grandparents, Louis Sr. and Evelyn Lenfant, and his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Camille Uddo, shaping the values he carried throughout his life.
Lance attended St. Pius X School before becoming a proud Blue Jay at Jesuit High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically. Wearing the number 31 as a defensive end and co-captain, he led his teammates with the same strength and determination that would define him throughout his life. He continued his education at Loyola University and the University of New Orleans, earning bachelor's degrees in business administration and accounting.
A driven entrepreneur, Lance co-owned LGD Lawn and Landscaping alongside his brother-in-law, Colin Casey, growing the company into a respected name in the industry. His leadership, vision, and dedication left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and clients.
Lance found joy in camping and hiking—passions that were nurtured by frequent family excursions during his formative years. The memories of those adventures remained close to his heart, shaping his appreciation for nature and travel. He was also a gifted chef, generously assuming the role of holiday host and family cook. He also loved gaming with his friends and listening to music.
Above all, Lance was a devoted son, a steadfast and caring brother, and a beloved uncle to Lilly Casey, Evelyn Smith, and Blaze Casey, whom he adored. His kindness, loyalty, and unwavering support made him a pillar of strength to all who knew him.
Lance is survived by his parents, Louis and Angelina Lenfant; his brother, Brian; his sisters, Ashley Casey (Colin) and Laura Smith (Stephen); his nieces, Lilly Casey and Evelyn Smith; his nephew, Blaze Casey; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
A service to honor Lance’s life will be held at Lakelawn Funeral Home on Sunday, March 16th. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m.
Lance’s spirit, warmth, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he have a good journey to Valhalla.
