A lifelong New Orleanian and Catholic, Lawrence was the younger brother of the late Jancarl Campi and husband of his beloved late wife, Catherine Alice Collins Campi.
He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974. Over the course of his working life, he remembered his years working for the Garvey family at Radiophone with particular fondness. An avid amateur radio operator, he was known on the air by his call sign, WA5TRX.
A devoted father, Lawrence was kind, funny, and always ready with a joke. He is survived by his daughter, Veronica Frances Campi; his son-in-law, Ferdinand Fayollet; and his sister-in-law, Janice Campi.
A Catholic prayer and entombment will be held at the Campi family tomb at Metairie Cemetery on October 21st at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather afterward for a reception at Harbor Seafood in Kenner beginning at 12:00 p.m., to share memories and celebrate Lawrence’s life.
