Larry was a professional shrimper who enjoyed most of his life on the waters of Lake Pontchartrain. He was known as “Barefoot” to all his friends in Bucktown. In addition to shrimping and helping his fellow shrimpers, Larry was a jack of all trades. He was exceptional in renovating old homes, especially those belonging to his sisters. He repaired all types of motors and boats and assisted anyone who asked for help.
Immediately after Katrina’s levee breaks, Larry and other shrimpers and fisherman of Bucktown went into Lakeview and rescued hundreds of people. Larry then began saving the damaged trees. Until his death, he continued to cut and trimmed trees.
A private funeral and celebration of Larry’s life will be held. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you support the Louisiana seafood industry by purchasing Louisiana seafood from local seafood markets.
