Lena Sclafini

Lena Marie Schillesci Sclafini died on December 4, 2014 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Vincent Sclafini, Jr, her parents, Peter and Antoinette DeCorte Schillesci, and her brother, Dr. Salvadore Schillesci; Lena was the beloved mother of Ronald (Marie Dupuy), Glenn (Cristy), and Terry (Edie Tomeny) Sclafini; “Gram” was the devoted grandmother of Kristi S. Cannon (Jody), Amy S. Vicknair, Leslie S. Patrick (Alex), Michael V. Sclafini (Lindsay Woodroff) and Emily T. Sclafini; loving great grandmother of Brittani C. Rivet (Brady), Joshua Cannon, Hunter Vicknair, Charlie Patrick, Sofia Patrick, and Lucas Sclafini and proud great-great grandmother of Brady Rivet, Jr. Lena is also survived by sister-in-law Pat Briethoff, and cousins, nieces and nephews. Lena was a proud alumnae of Sacred Heart of Jesus Grammar and High School in New Orleans. She loved playing “cousin’s” cards and watching Saints’ games with her family. Lena worked as a secretary for many years and, in her later years worked with her sons at their family restaurant. Despite her physical limitations in her later years, Gram never lost her will to live and to enjoy her family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1908 Short Street, Kenner, LA, 70062, from 10:00 am until 12 noon. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 noon followed by burial at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
