

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard J. Bossier, Sr. and Ann Lombardo Bossier Jeansonne; stepfather, Milbon Jeansonne; and sister, Gloria Cross. He was the beloved husband of 52 years of the late Lois Labourdette Bossier and the beloved husband of the late Antoinette Uddo Bossier for 5 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Bossier McKinnie; son, Michael Andre Bossier (Michelle); grandchildren, James “Jay” Stephen McKinnie, Dr. Christopher McKinnie (Olivia), Michael Bossier, Jr., and Emily Grace Bossier; and great-grandchildren, Luke McKinnie, Matthew McKinnie, Peter McKinnie, and Claire McKinnie.
Leonard graduated from Samuel J. Peters High School and was the founder of Associated Reporters, Inc., which served the New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette, La. areas. He also worked as a court reporter in the Civil District Court in New Orleans, La. He was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus council number 3729 in New Orleans. He was also a reservist in the Louisiana National Guard with the rank of Private during the Korean War.
Leonard loved playing golf, gardening, and cooking for family and friends. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help those in need. He was determined and firmly believed that he could succeed in anything he set his mind to. He was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Parish, and his strong faith played a major role in his life. His favorite phrase was, “Don’t Worry, Pray.”
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at St. Clement of Rome Church in Metairie, La. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with a Mass to begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Roch Cemetery #2.
In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
