Lester served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He then went on to work from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office where he retired as a Lieutenant. Lester was an avid LSU and Saints fan. He was also a world class deer hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Avé Breaux Hebert; his daughter, Cindy Hebert (Joey); his daughter-in-law, Michelle Hebert; his sisters, Sandra Fontenot, Peggy Dietrich “BooBoo”, and Michelle Barcelona; his grandchildren, Camryn Hebert, Gianna Tregre, and Kyle Hebert; and bonus PawPaw of Isabella Berryhill. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sons, William “Billy” and Devin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life for Lester on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. A graveside service will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
