Linda Margaret Braud

With deep love and sorrow, the family of Linda Margaret Braud announces her passing on June 11, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on November 2, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Joseph Contreras and Hazel Dugas, Linda brought warmth, strength, and compassion to all who knew her.

Linda was a devoted mother, stepmother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Linda’s beloved children are Eric White and the late Erica Guttuso including her stepchildren Kent Braud, Kayla Tortorich, and Kevin Braud. Linda cherished her grandchildren John Paul, Sydney, Taylor, Aaron, Sydney, Bryceton, Zoi and Landon. She was blessed with her great-grandchildren Quinn, Judah, Caiden, Isabelle, and Charlotte. She shared 26 wonderful years with her cherished husband John Braud. Linda was the beloved sister of ten siblings: Brenda, Susan, Danny, Beverly, Glenn and John, and was preceded in death by her dear sisters: Dolores, Becky, Sonia and Josie.

Known for her outgoing spirit, strong sense of organization, and natural leadership, Linda had a remarkable ability to bring people together. She was beautiful inside and out. Linda was very loving, caring, and the heart of her family. She will be remembered as the glue that held generations together, always ready to lend a hand, offer support, or simply be present with grace and strength.

A Memorial Gathering will be held in her honor on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home beginning at 1:00pm until 3:00pm. Interment in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.

Linda’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
