

Linda Grace Skipper, a longtime resident of New Orleans, LA passed away peacefully in her home on October 2, 2017 at the age of 74. Beloved daughter of the late Reverend James Edward Skipper and Lucille Little Skipper of Greenville, Alabama, she is survived by very dear friends Jacqueline Pace, Holly Schorling, Richard Gill, Robb Sherlock, Katrina Kellum and several cousins. Linda was also predeceased by her longtime loving companion Patricia Anne Nolan.
Born in Greenville, Alabama, Linda graduated from Birmingham Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1964 and moved to New Orleans, LA in 1966 to attend the Charity School of Anesthesia. Before retiring from the medical field after Hurricane Katrina, Linda practiced as a Nurse Anesthetist at Mercy Hospital of New Orleans for over 30 years and later at Chalmette Medical Center and Touro Hospital.
Many thanks for the loving care that she received from her caregivers Stacey Becker, Jennifer Harvell and more recently Kia Barnes and Kenyatta Dantzler.
A special thank you to Stacie, Steve, Beth and Ofelia at Amedisys Home Healths Services for the many years of care and to Lakeside Hospice for their compassionate care in her last days.
Many friends and coworkers will remember Linda not only for her love of life and wicked sense of humor but also for her kindness and generosity. Her love of animals was just as strong as her love of people. Those she took under her wing will remember her giving loving spirit and no nonsense advice.
