Linda was born in New Orleans where she had deep family roots across generations. Her family moved with her father’s work and she spent her high school years in Palo Alto, California. She returned to New Orleans to attend Loyola University, where she met Terry, the love of her life.
Her life was devoted to caring for others, having raised four children while also supporting her mother and brother. She cherished her role as “Lindy” to her 15 grandchildren and had a remarkable gift for soothing fussy babies much to the relief of new parents. A gifted and passionate needleworker, Linda loved to sew, especially for her grandchildren.
Linda was awarded the Order of St. Louis IX Medallion by the Archdiocese of New Orleans in recognition of her outstanding service to her parish, St. Pius X, where she had been an active member since 1964. Her faith life was central to who she was. She was deeply committed to the Sodality of Mary, the long-standing Thursday Morning Prayer Group, and the Catholic Couples group, of which she was a core member for nearly 25 years. She also served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector.
She will be remembered for her thoughtful and generous spirit, her devoted caregiving, and her warm hospitality, especially welcoming her college kids’ friends.
Linda was a beautiful person, inside and out, who lived her life in service to her faith, family, and friends. She was deeply loved and tenderly cared for in her final years by her devoted husband, children, and caregivers, including Mary Williams, Inez McKenzie, Deborah Butler, and Darlene King.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at St. Pius X Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Boulevard, New Orleans. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a Mass to begin at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow.
