Lisa Michelle Delao

Lisa Michelle Delao passed away on June 8, 2025, at the age of 61. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 14, 1963. After college, she joined an ice-skating troupe that toured around Europe and did this professionally for twenty years. Once she returned to New Orleans, she worked in the hospitality industry. For the last ten years, she operated her own dog grooming business. In her free time, Lisa enjoyed woodworking, painting, furniture refinishing, eating, sewing, and designing clothes.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Alexandre Smaguine; and her father, John Dennis Delao, Jr.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Tracy Simmons Delao; sister, Dana Delao; brother, John Delao (Cleide); nephews, Christopher and Aiden Delao; niece, Kristin Delao; aunts, Edna Jordan, Lynn Johnson, and Terry Moran; beloved great nephew, "Lisa's boy" and the love of her life, Luca Delao; and many cousins.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Passages Hospice for their care.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public funeral services.
