Lloyd J. Ernest, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the age of 90. Loving husband of Betty Wetzel Ernest. Devoted father of Lloyd, Jr. (Reneé), Gary (Dawn), Donald (Evelyn), Wayne (former wife, Lisa) and the late Michael (Kim) Ernest. Son of the late Paul C. Ernest and Lillian Schwab Ernest. Brother of the late Paul (Claire) and Violet Ernest. Grandfather of Shannon, Christy, Brandon, Jourdan, Darrell, Kenny, Tabi, Joel, Jason, Samantha, Megan, Christopher and Cody. Great grandfather of Madeline, Charlotte, Dwayne, Donavin, Kayla, Korinne, Kolt, Dupree, Abigail, Lyla and Jed. Also survived by his devoted niece, Peggy (Anthony). Mr. Ernest worked for Harvey Press Printing Company for 21 years. He was an avid bowler, baseball player and LSU fan. Mr. Ernest was also a little league baseball coach for Carrollton Playground. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and funeral service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Monday, May 20, 2014. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a service in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
