Lois A. Mayer

Lois Ann Mayer went to her heavenly home on Monday, May 22, 2023 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore “Buddy” Christian Mayer. Beloved mother of Brett (Dena) J. Mayer. Denise (Randy) M. Farrell, Tammy (Steve) M. Claret, Wade (Engracia) T. Mayer and Todd (Cyrena) A. Mayer.

Beloved grandmother of Alexandra (Joshua) M. Smira, Ariel (Dylan) M. Luccich, Randy Farrell, Jr., Stefan Farrell, Kyle Zara, Kayla (Fredy) Z. Chavez, Veronica (Campbell) M. McClure, Thomas Mayer, Brock Mayer and Madisyn Mayer. Beloved great grandmother of Dakota, Denver and Durham Smira, Kohen and Kullen Luccich, Savannah and Emersynn Farrell, Stefan Farrell, Jr., Cecelia Chavez, Atlas and Maeve McClure.

Daughter of the late Amy Arceneaux Miller and Leslie Ulysses Miller. Sister of Shirley Boudreaux and Leslie Miller, Jr. and the late Weber Miller, Billy Babin, Margie Root, Edith Rossi and Pamella Gautreau.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was born and raised in Prairieville, LA and was a resident of Metairie, LA for over 60 years. While still raising her children along with her husband, Lois went back into the workforce. She held positions in various fields before becoming the parish secretary at Our Lady of Perpetual Help where she served under Fr. Richard Miles for 20 years before retiring.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Visitation to begin at 9:00 am, followed by mass at 1:00 pm.

Interment to follow at Metairie Cemetery.
