

Lois Seidenbach Shepard passed away on September 10 at the age of 98. She was the devoted wife of Ralph Shepard for 67 years. She is survived by three sons Rob, Louis (Dana) and Hal (Kathy), six grandchildren Alice, Margaret, Adam (Jenna), Brian (Sara), David (Lesley Lucas) Shepard and Rachel Shepard Buffin (Nick), and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband Ralph, her parents Louis and Esther Seidenbach and sister Jane Phillips. She was born in New Orleans and graduated from Isidore Newman School and Newcomb College. She was a tennis player, an avid gardener and active volunteer, working as a docent for the Cabildo, a volunteer for the Botanical Gardens at City Park, co-chair for many years of Six on Your Side for the National Council of Jewish Women, and an active member of Touro Synagogue Sisterhood. She and Ralph enjoyed their many travels around the world and spending time in Hilton Head. Many thanks to Bernice Williams for her tender care of our mom over the last few years. Graveside services will be held at Hebrew Rest Cemetery II on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m., Rabbi Katie Bauman officiating. Donations may be made to Touro Synagogue. May her memory be for a blessing. Lakelawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
