

Mrs. Lori Alcazar Dean passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the age of 49. She was born in Metairie, Louisiana, on July 14, 1975. After graduating high school, she became an insurance agent. In her free time, she enjoyed sunbathing and waited all year to visit the beach, but she loved nothing more than spending time with family, who she always put first no matter what.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl Stensland Alcazar; sister, Melissa Dawn Alcazar Simon; and brother, Kenneth Lee Alcazar.
Lori is survived by her husband of 19 years, David Alexander Dean, Sr.; father, Carlos Edward Alcazar, Jr.; daughters, Selena Victoria Rivero and Kaiyla Cierra Dean; son, David Alexander Dean, Jr.; brothers, Carlos Edward Alcazar III, David Randal Alcazar; grandchildren, Kayden Cole Rivero, Juliana Maria Bennett; and her beloved pet cats, Corey and Charlie.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to IMTT and Expert Insurance Services for their unwavering loyalty and support throughout years of service, giving both husband and wife the opportunity to grow and thrive while raising their family in their home. They also want to thank anyone who ever came in contact with the family and performed an act of kindness or provided support when it was most needed: strangers, friends, co-workers, relatives, hospital staff and support teams who made an impact on the family by helping Lori to be comfortable and doing everything they could to keep her here with us for as long as she could be.

Her funeral services will be held in the parlor of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Monday, July 7, 2025. Visitation will be held beginning at 10 AM with a prayer in the parlor at 11:45 AM. Afterwards, Lori will be laid to rest in Metairie Cemetery at 12 PM.
