Lorraine Voorhies Levine, a native of St. Martinville and a past resident of Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Mandeville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 7th surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born 92 years ago on November 24, 1928. She is survived by her devoted twin-sister Grace Thomas, her children Jack (Tiki), Bob (Marion), Kathy McLean (John), Ken (Kathy) and Kevin (Melissa). She adored her grandchildren; Lindsay Levine Rouse (Steven), John Levine (Lindsay), Andrew Levine (Sarah), Robert Levine (Renee), Christopher Levine, Ashley McLean Moore (Charlie), Michael McLean (Lukia), Sean Levine, Kelly Levine Musser (Jacob), Meghan Levine Kurtz (Ben), Devin Levine, Davis Levine, and Claire Levine, as well as great-grandchildren Jack Rouse, Barrett Rouse, Lucie Rouse, Margot Levine, Mary Levine, Sage Moore, Eliza Moore, Aniston McLean, Remy McLean, Millie Musser, James Musser and her many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcel Voorhies, and Grace Burdin Voorhies; the love of her life, her husband of 64 years – Jack Levine, her daughter Linda, her granddaughter Michelle, her brothers Marcel and Bondo, and her sister Betty Ann Muller. Lorraine graduated from McMain High School in 1946. Her greatest love was spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She was devoted to her Catholic faith through participation in Mass, Adoration, the Charismatic Renewal group, Magnificat, a couples prayer group and her Rosary prayer group, culminating with the annual Christmas Eve Mass in her home celebrated by her very close life-long friend - the late Fr. Harold Cohen for each of his last 37 years. Funeral services and Mass are private for family due to Covid. Please remember Lorraine in your prayers.
