Lorraine Rainey Schorling

Lorraine Rainey Schorling passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred John Schorling and mother to Heidi Schorling Huber, grandmother to Yardley Elizabeth Huber and the late Thomas John Meyer. Mrs. Schorling was a daughter of the late Walter Belden Rainey and Ethel Mooney Rainey. She was a sister of Douglas J. Rainey and Francis E. Rainey and the late Rosemary Rainey, Lorna R. Robinson, Calvin Rainey, Patricia R. Schulte, John Rainey, Kathleen R. Wieczor, David Rainey, and Thomas Rainey.

Mrs. Schorling was the Godmother of John Robinson, Douglas Schulte, Gretchen Schulte, Davette Peterson, Lauren Dubus, Susan Andry, and Edward Modinger, and Tammie Higgins. She was a special aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and lovingly called “Nanny.”

The family wishes to thank the Ochsner Baptist ICU team for their loving care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 12 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery
