

Tony Gallo passed away on October 22, 2018 at the age of 61 of natural causes in Plymouth, MN. Tony was born on July 2, 1957 in New Orleans to the late Louis A. Gallo, M.D. and Elizabeth D. Gallo. He was the grandson of the late Dr. Frank Gallo and Carmelite P. Gallo. Nephew to the late Katherine M. Gallo. He had two sons, the late Anthony Mark Gallo, his surviving son, Louis A. “Anthony” Gallo, III (Melissa) and two granddaughters. Tony had one sister, Cynthia G. Hull, two nieces Alyssa Gallo and Holly Bertuglia (Adam), and their children, Addison, Joshua, Josiah, Jacob and Jericho Bertuglia. He had a stepmother, Mary “Lydia” Gallo; one stepsister, Lainey Margavio (Todd); two stepbrothers, Bret A. Baltz and John “Jacob” Baltz (Natalie); and several step nieces and nephews. Tony also leaves behind his beloved companion, his dog and best friend, Pepper.
Tony graduated from St. Paul’s High School and later attended Delgado School for Culinary Arts. He worked many years as a chef and graduated to executive chef, most recently at North Ridge Living in New Hope, MN. Tony loved Mardi Gras, and belonged to the Krewe of Atlas and the Krewe of Endymion for many years. He loved nature, especially hunting and deep-sea fishing. He was an avid reader and loved history. He had many friends through the years, especially his dear friend Vicki Lund from MN.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, November 8, 2018, beginning at 10:30am at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, Louisiana. A memorial mass will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00pm. Interment will be held in Metairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers masses offered in Tony’s name, or donations be made to the American Brain Tumor Association at www.abta.org.
