On behalf of the Caledonian Society of New Orleans, we send deepest condolences to the family and friends of our dear member, Louie Greer.  "Laird" Louie was a valued part of our Society for many years, joining the Caledonian Society in 1996.  He was our trusted Treasurer until this last term of office, when he moved up to Vice President.  Louie had the kindest heart and could always be counted upon for a ride to meetings or simply to be there when needed.  His love and devotion to dear Mr. Jack, Margaret and Hilary and others in the Society went so far beyond friendship, exemplifying his deep spiritual devotion and desire to share Jesus' love with those around him.  His wonderful programs were always a hit with the membership, as were his costumes, especially Merlin.  He had a gentle sense of humor and a wide range of interests, so conversations with Louie were always a treat.  We will miss him tremendously and bid him Godspeed on his heavenly journey.  The attached picture is of a candle lighted in his honor at the St. Louis Basilica in St. Louis, Missouri in the days following his passing - his memory will forever burn in our hearts.

Farewell to my good friend Louie Louis G. Greer. He was a kind and gentle soul who loved his cats, collected stamps and signatures of movie stars, and costumes...many of which i made. He was fearless in his choice of costume personality and time period. When he walked in my door, he was a suburban accountant. When he walked out he was a Roman Gladiator, Merlin, Norman Bates' mother, a medieval duchess, Ben Franklin, several varieties of French Aristocrat, Charlie's Aunt, and so many more. I'll really miss you Lou. Rest in Paradise, my friend.

My life was enriched for having known Louie. He was a good man.  ...Rest in peace, sir.

Louis was a great friend  and person, there is nothing he would not do for  a friend.  He will be greatly missed. 

I met Louie many years ago through work.  I reconnected with him years later at the Deutsches Haus.  He was a kind, decent man, who always had a smile on his face every time I saw him.  He will be greatly missed.  My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
