Duchess is survived by her brother Daniel Haeuser (Melinda); nephew Justin Haeuser (Ashley); niece Morgan Haeuser Wynne (Bill); great-nephew Henry Haeuser; many cousins throughout; and her beloved Schnauzer, Oscar. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene "Gene" Alexis Brian, and parents Louis D. Haeuser and Lucille Songy Haeuser.
Duchess and Gene married at the National Shrine of St. Ann on October 25, 1990, and enjoyed 31 years of matrimony. They moved from Metairie back to New Orleans (Lakeshore) in 1997, with all of their dogs past and present.
Duchess was a 50+ year member of the Krewe of Iris, riding in parades for 49 years; an active member of Lakeshore Woman’s Club; the Past President of the Lakeshore Garden Club; a Charter Member and past President of the Rambling Rose Garden Club, Ladybugs; a member of St. Dominic's Monday Night Fatima Rosary Group; a member of the Krewe of Carrollton Ladies of the Circle; a Charter Member of La Femme de la Fashion; a Greeter at St. Dominic’s church; a member of Missionaries of St. Theresa; and a participant in several Philanthropic projects throughout New Orleans.
Duchess and Gene were accomplished travelers. They realized the importance of viewing and enjoying the beauty and history of these United States. They went East Coast, West Coast, North and South, and everywhere in between, including the Hawaiian Islands and a sea voyage around Alaska. By air, land, and sea, they traveled throughout Europe, Russia, Australia, and New Zealand, and cruised through the Panama Canal. Their final journey commenced with Nova Scotia.

A visitation for Duchess will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 AM, and interment thereafter in Metairie Cemetery.
