Lura Mae Guillory

Lura Mae Guillory passed away on Thursday, September 03, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, in her 100th year. Born in Bayou Jack, Louisiana, on April 04, 1926, Lura’s long life was marked by the presence of a woman beloved by all.

For many years, Lura spent her days running her grocery store in St. Bernard Parish and became a beloved fixture in the community. In her later years, she became a resident of New Orleans.

Lura was preceded in death by her husband Oswald Gunter; her siblings, Elton Guillory, Mary Ann Guillory, and Joseph Guillory; and her parents, Theogene and Rosalia Guillory.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Tricia (Bradley); her grandchildren Bradley Labrosse III, Kimberly Labrosse, and Kristen Labrosse; and her great-grandchild Bradley Labrosse IV.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Lura’s life at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. A Committal Service will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Lake Lawn Park, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, where Lura will be laid to eternal rest.
