It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lynn Joy Landry Gerhardt, age 91 on January 12, 2026 at Crosby, TX.

A native New Orleanian, Lynn was born to the late Dr. Lloyd Joseph Landry and Florence Maryann Warren Landry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice William Gerhardt, Sr.

Lynn and Maurice lived in New Orleans, Buena Park CA, Westminster CA, Marrero LA and Hammond LA. Several years after Maurice’s death, Lynn made her home in Humble TX.

Lynn grew up in Lakeview, the eldest of six daughters and was sister to Maryann Landry, the late Jeannine Palmisano (late Lester), the late Jeanne Landry, Ella Adams (Don) and the late Elaine Frey (Fred). She was half-sister to the late Lloyd Landry, Jr. and Gene Landry.

Lynn was a teacher at Visitation of our Lady Catholic School in Marrero and Terrytown Academy in Gretna. She taught religious education classes at Visitation Church as well as St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Hammond. She was also active with the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, volunteered with Meals-on-Wheels, St. Vincent de Paul, and local libraries as an adult reading tutor. She gave private piano lessons for many years. Lynn loved to travel and visited many countries throughout the world.

Lynn is survived by her children, Theresa Healy (Kerry) of Crosby, TX, Maurice, Jr. (Dianna) of Crosby, TX, and Ronald of Trinity, TX. Lynn was “Granny” to Katie Palmer, Sean Phillips, Ryan Gerhardt, Erin Potts, Veronica Fratus, Joshua Gerhardt, Lauren Hansen, Tobey Healy, Marideth Tye, and Alexander Nees. She is survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

The services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral mass at 12:00 p.m. The interment will follow within Metairie Cemetery.
