Lynne Mastio Calcagno entered into eternal rest to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Lynne passed peacefully with her family by her bedside in Metairie, Louisiana at the age of 78. She leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph Calcagno, Jr., daughter Gina Calcagno Tash (Robert), stepson Anthony Calcagno (Debra), grandchildren Olivia Poitevent, Audrey Poitevent, Sophia Poitevent, brother Gerald A. Mastio (Cheryl), step granddaughter Gwendolyn Calcagno Wild and dear friend Robert Rosenmeier. Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, Irwin V. Mastio, Sr., Odette Eternod Mastio, brother Irwin V. Mastio, Jr., daughter Traci L. Calcagno, brother-in-law Steve E. Calcagno, Sr. (Sharon) and stepson Joseph Calcagno, III. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Lynne was born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of Metairie, LA. She was a homemaker and was also retired secretary of the family business Broadview Seafoods, Inc. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church. She will be sadly missed and will forever be in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at noon at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 835 Melody Dr., Metairie, LA. Visitation at church will be 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Monty Glorioso and Dr. James McCullough and staff for their care and compassion for Lynne throughout her long illness. The family also thanks all her caretakers, especially her loving niece Alicia Mastio Foret, Sisters Servants of Mary, sitters Dee Dee, Eva, Lydia, Gerty, Mary and Dianne for providing great care and compassion to Lynne which allowed her to enter into eternal life comfortably and peacefully.
