Lynne Nalty Gallmann, beloved wife of Richard Francis Gallmann, and a longtime resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, peacefully passed away at the age of 86 on November 2, 2024. Mrs. Gallmann was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude Sutter Nalty and John Bernard Nalty, and her sister Suzanne Nalty Erdal. She was a proud graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart and attended the University of Alabama. Mrs. Gallmann was active in the Junior League of New Orleans and the Academy of the Sacred Heart Mother’s Club. She was an accomplished bridge player and avid tennis player for many years. Lynne is survived by her husband Richard of 65 years, and three daughters, Susan Orser (David), Cindy Soler (Miguel), and Elise Dabezies (Jean). Lynne, lovingly known as “G.G.,” leaves a lasting legacy to her grandchildren David, Richard (Laine), T’Jean (Alicia), CoCo (Brian), Cristian (Dominique), LeLe, and Madeline. To G.G., family was everything. She spoke lovingly of all her grandchildren, and of her great-grandchildren, Sutter Orser and Richard Orser, Jr., who were so precious to her. Lynne and Richard had great times together. “G.G.’n Big Dad” pretty much became one word, and they set a beautiful example for all those who came into contact with them. We are blessed to have witnessed such a long-lasting and loving relationship. There have been so many wonderful stories told - from good times with friends to attending Saints and LSU games to beach vacations. G.G. was fond of “passing a good time,” and always hoped we were doing the same. Good times were had on the beach in Destin with family and friends, playing Friday cards with close friends Barbara, Janie, and Flora for over 50 years, and, more recently, enjoying the long-standing Saturday brunch with grandchildren at Russell’s Marina Grill. All this as she lived her motto, “Faith, Family, and Friends.” When G.G. told us that we were her “favorite,” we truly believed it. Of course, she went on to say that each of us had a number depending on birth order or when we joined the family. So Favorite #1 was the same as Favorite #7 - we all truly were her favorites! We will miss G.G., but we will “hold on” until we see her again.
