Maceo "Mace" Harris

Maceo “Mace” Harris, a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the age of 66. Mace began working on the interment crew at Lake Lawn Park and Metairie Cemetery in 1977. He retired as a Cemetery Services Specialist after 46 years of service. Beloved husband of 45 years to Cheryl Stewart Harris. Son of the late Alfred and Maxine Devall Harris. Loving father of Maceo and Cyrell. Brother of Melba, Alicia, Allen, Alfred and the late Alvin and Albert. Brother-in-law of Charlene (Donald), Charles and Josephine. Adoring grandfather of Monique, Mayonnetea, Jurrell, Ashton and Raelynn. Great Grandfather of Joshua, Jonah, Mayson, Knowledge and Noah. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Relatives, friends and employees of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home and Cemeteries, LCMC Health, USPS and Steamboat Natchez are invited to attend the Funeral Service held at Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2217 Harmony Street, New Orleans, LA 70115 on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
