Malcolm Lee Strehle, Jr. passed away on January 11, 2023 at the age of 80. He was born on December 26, 1942 to Malcolm Lee Strehle, Sr. and Pearl Levata Strehle. He was a resident of Metairie and attended St. Louis King of France Church. He graduated from Tulane University, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting and worked for the purchasing department of LSU Med Center in New Orleans, from which he retired in 2008. In his free time, he liked to study genealogy and was a member of the Gretna Historical Society. He also enjoyed watching the Saints games, playing Texas Hold ‘Em, chess, and table tennis.
Malcolm is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Lilli Bruggen Strehle; his daughter, Deborah S. Pujol (Randy); his son, Kevin N. Strehle (Rosita); his sisters, Yvette S. Greer (Russ) and Anne S. Franz; his grandchildren, Dustin, Brandon, Alley, Steven, and Nick; and his great-grandchildren, Caiden, Logan, Layla, Abigail, Emily, Isabelle, and Bennett.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Steven M. Strehle; and his granddaughter, Brittany M. Strehle. Private services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gretna on Monday, January 30, 2023, and he will be laid to rest at Hook and Ladder Cemetery.
