She was born on March 11, 1935, in Gheens, Louisiana and was the only child of Jeanne Cressionie Clulee and Joseph J. Clulee. When she was three years old, her family moved to a small island off Rigolets Pass and Lake Borgne called Rabbit Island. The years she spent on Rabbit Island were a cherished part of her life.

Later in her life, she married Jess W. Wood. They were married from December 23, 1995, until his death on October 24, 2017.
Margaret and Jess lived in Lakeview for 22 years. While living there, they both converted to the Catholic faith and joined St. Dominic Church. Margaret’s Catholic faith remained an important part of her life. In 2019, she moved to Metairie and became a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Church.
Margaret loved traveling and enjoyed seeing new places whenever the opportunity presented itself. She was an avid bingo player, and she looked forward to her weekly bingo games. Margaret was also very passionate about gardening, taking great pride in caring for her flower beds and potted plants. She was also well known for her keen sense of fashion. She always took great care to be well dressed in thoughtfully coordinated and colorful outfits.
