Margie Champagne Bucher

She was the daughter of the late Alcest and Suzanne Ford Champagne and preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley, Ralph, William, Adler and Kenneth “Coopie” Champagne; and sister, Jeanette Nicholay.

Margie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Francis T. Bucher; children, Christopher (Shawn), Gregory (Susie) and Patrice Bucher; grandchildren, Christopher/Teddy Bucher, Jr., Melissa Bucher Elowe (Nathan), Timothy Bucher (Megan), Stephanie Held (Jacob) and Allison Bucher; great granddaughter Madeleine Bucher. She is also survived by her sister Mary Ann Lendle.

Francis & Margie are the retired owners of H.S Renshaw Inc., an International Freight Forwarding company. They were both longtime and respected members of the World Trade Club and Traffic and Transportation Club of Greater New Orleans.

Margie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who provided for her children and grandchildren unselfishly. Nothing made her happier than to have her family gathered and cook her famous Margie Burgers. She was gentle, humble and loved God and her family unconditionally.

The family would like to thank Lauren Pennington for her love & care and the staff of The Blake at Colonial Club.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass on Friday, November 22, 2024, at St. Benilde Church, 1901 Division St., Metairie, LA at 11am. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am until service time. Interment to follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

If possible, Masses preferred in lieu of flowers.
