Margo A. Berger passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at her home. She was 99 years old, born on October 23, 1921 in Frankfort, Germany. She left Germany the day after Kristallnacht (Nov.10, 1938) and immigrated to London, England. She spent the war years in London working in a weapons factory, and then joining the armed forces in the Civil Censorship Division European Command APO 757 US ARMY. Margo came to New Orleans in 1959, and over the years volunteered with the New Orleans juvenile courts, presidential election campaigns, and finally with the Alzheimer’s unit at the Jewish Community Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Berger. She is survived by her step son, Kent A. Berger (Lee), and son, Michael Berger (Joan), her step grandchildren, Zack Arrington (Helen), Laura Arrington, and Joanna Arrington, with great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Madeleine.

A memorial will take place at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 11:00 AM, August 5, 2021.
