

Marguerite “Margie” Blouin Ziegler passed away on March 23, 2021 at the age of 96. She was born on June 23, 1924 to the late Emile and Julie Blouin in Gramercy, LA. She worked as a secretary at Boeing’s NASA Michoud facility and had been a riveter of planes during WWII. She had a great love of gourmet French creole cooking, gardening, watching the national news, and all things family.
She is preceded in death by: her husband of 49 years, Thomas Claiborne Ziegler, Jr.; her daughter, Laura Ziegler Perrin (Chad); her sisters, Marie Blouin Duhé and Gertrude Blouin Zimmerman; and her brothers, J.C. Blouin and Edmond Blouin. She is survived by: her daughter, Lydia Ziegler Jemison (Michael); her sister, Theresa Blouin Crampes; her brother, Emile Blouin, Jr.; her grandchildren, Kyle Jemison, Stefanie Jemison Villaverde (Vinnie), Rachel Jemison and Danelle Perrin Dufriend; and her great-granddaughter, Melody Jemison and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Traditions Hospice, especially to the nurses, and to Dr. Marlon Joseph for taking such good care of Marguerite.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral mass starting at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment will take place at Westlawn Cemetery on Whitney Avenue in Gretna following mass. Father Chris Zavackis of St. Cletus Parish Church will be officiating.
