Marianne Woolner Westbrook, born December 7, 1945, passed August 17, 2025, predeceased by her life companion, Mary Rita Smith; and parents, Bernard and Hortense Woolner and survived by brother, Bernard; and sister in-law, Barbara Woolner; nephew, Brian; and niece, Brooke Dumhart; and former husband and life friend, Charlie Westbrook.

Marianne graduated from Ridgewood High School in New Orleans, and Centenary College in Shreveport and went on to teach physical education at John Ehret High School in Marrero. She was a resident of New Orleans, Metairie, Folsom, Palm Desert, CA, and Mandeville.

A so special lady of wide interests and accomplishments, Marianne was an All-American gymnast at Centenary, a participant in the high diving competition, and a Gold Medal Winner in Gymnastics at the Maccabiah Games. Marianne was a world traveler who swam with the dolphins in Bali, dove to view the Great White Sharks in South Africa, and an explored tourist of China, Japan, India, Egypt, Russia, Norway, Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Botswana, Sudan and many other countries.

An enthusiastic Saints, LSU and Tulane fan, she was also a show horse winner, avid fisherwoman, excellent tennis player, Crescent City Classic runner, and rider in the Iris Mardi Gras week parade.

Marianne loved her extensive Christmas and Halloween decorations, clothes, jewelry, and antiques. She embraced everyone with love, friendship, humor, and wit. Her family would like to thank The Carrollton and especially Marianne’s devoted caregiver and friend, Tara Collins. Marianne will be greatly missed by her family and many close friends.
