Marie O’Hara Heintz passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at the age of 94. She is survived by her daughters, Anne Heintz Duplass, Lyn Heintz Rouchell, and Gayle Heintz Espenan; sons, Gustave L. Heintz, III, Douglas J. Heintz, and Dr. Gerald C. Heintz; grandchildren, Amanda Heintz Whitaker, Lauren Heintz Day, Dr. Christian J. Duplass, Ellie Duplass Tsikalas, John Michael Rouchell, Emily Espenan Tsikalas, Gregory Espenan, Jory Heintz, and Mary Heintz; great-grandchildren, Wesley Whitaker, Walter Day, Amelia Day, Liz Duplass, Carly Duplass, Simon Tsikalas, Colette Rouchell, Kate Tsikalas, and Luke Tsikalas; and sister, Patricia O’Hara Knight.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustave L. Heintz, Jr.; parents, Judge William J. O’Hara and Gertrude Richard O’Hara; and brothers, William O’Hara and Malcolm O’Hara .
Mrs. Heintz was born and raised in New Orleans, and graduated from Louise S. McGehee School and attended Newcomb College. She was a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in Metairie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, January 10, 2018 at 12 noon. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Marie’s name to Louisiana State University Foundation, for the excellent care she received at University Medical Center.
