Marie Morehiser

Ethel "Marie" Morehiser passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. She was born on September 1, 1919 in Preston County, West Virginia to the late James W. and Sylvia Goff Bolyard. Marie was also preceded in death by her loving husband, John E. Morehiser, Jr.; a sister, Sarah Gruner; brothers, Mervin, Melvin and James Ray Bolyard; a son-in-law, Glenn Bellard; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth P. Morehiser and a granddaughter, Jenny G. Bellard. Marie is survived by her daughters, Marianne Pradoura (Philippe) and Jane Bellard; her sons, John B. Morehiser and Mervin B. Morehiser (Jeanne); sisters, Velma Allen and Dorothea Welch; grandchildren, Gretchen Estapa (Edward), Emily Franco (Jason), Rebecca Morehiser (Jason Whalen), Bridget Bonnecarrere (Ryan), Daniel Morehiser, Genevieve Pradoura, Eleonore Deynes (Fabien), Edwige LeTurdu (Loic), Mathilde Pradoura (Sebastien Couratin), Nicholas Bellard (fiancé Betty Higginbotham), Andrew Bellard, Kevin Bellard (Jenni), Erin Bellard, and Lauren Signorelli (Trey). She is also survived by 23 great grandchildren.

Marie was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of LA Engineering Society, Jefferson Volunteers for Family & Community (formerly Homemakers), and Rotary Inner Wheel. She was also a founding member of St. Matthew the Apostle parish and resident of River Ridge for over 56 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1 pm in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans. Public visitation is from 11 am until time of service. Interment will follow the Mass in Metairie Cemetery.
