Mark Robert Zeringer passed away on July 31, 2026, at the age of 74. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on March 4, 1952. A graduate of Jesuit High School, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and obtained his Professional Engineering license (P.E.) from the state of Louisiana. He went on to enjoy a successful career in marine construction and consulting businesses in the oil and gas industry spanning more than 45 years, first in New Orleans and later in Houston.
In his free time, Mark loved working with Legos, building model cars, ships and airplanes, and spending time with his family. He was an avid reader of mystery and spy novels and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, especially golf, soccer, and football. He was a die-hard Saints and Texans fan.
Mark was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Thelma Zeringer; parents, Harold and Janet Zeringer; and sister, Hallie Zeringer Rabalais. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Katherine Zeringer; daughter, Emily Zeringer; son, Mark Zeringer (Regina); and brothers, Brian Zeringer (Rose) and Eric Zeringer (Caroline); nieces, Alexandra Dravis (Matt) and children Lillian, Levi, Lennox, Lucie and Letty, Addison Lee (Cody) and children Emerie and Arthur, and Aime’ Penner (Eric), Katie Zeringer and son Oliver and nephew, Mathew Gordon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services for Mark at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Friday, August 14, 2026. Visitation will begin at 11 am with chapel service following at 1 pm. He will be laid to rest in All Saints Mausoleum immediately upon conclusion of the chapel service.
