

Mrs. Goudeau was born in New Iberia, LA, December 9, 1928.
She is survived by her niece, Bonita Boudreaux and husband, Raymond C. Boudreaux, Sr., and their children; her caregivers, Ray Yvette Boudreaux, Lee Gabby Morgan Boudreaux, Samantha Gardipee, and Justin Picard. We would like to thank Acadiana Hospice.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Al Francis Goudeau, Sr.; son, Al Francis Goudeau, Jr.; parents Oniel “Bud” Hebert and Marie Comeaux Hebert; three brothers, Claude, Gladstone, and Senua Hebert; two half-brothers, Eddie and Eraste Hebert; three half-sisters, Edith Hebert, Editha Borrow, and Alida Gautreaux; and many nieces and nephews in New Iberia.
Mrs. Gaudeau was a retired banker having started her banking career in Lafayette, LA in 1946 then to New Orleans from 1952 to 1994. She was employed by National Bank of Commerce now Chase Co. Bank. She retired February 1, 1994.
During her career she was active in New Orleans Group of National Association of Bank Women now Financial Women Institute; she also belonged to American Institute of Banking (AIB). She was elected the first woman officer in 1967.
She was active at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church on Canal Street; serving on many committees. She taught CCB classes there at one time. She was a member of Sanctuary Society and Christian Life Committees. For her work and devotion to Sacred Heart Church she received the Order of St. Louis Medal in 1983 and the Senior Citizen Medal in 1994.
After her retirement she remained active as an extra Eucharistic minister and involved in the counting of the weekly collections.
Relatives and friends of Sacred Heart Parish, employees of First NBC, Bank One now J.P. Morgan Chase are invited to Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home to attend the visitation on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
