Mary Lou Herbert

Mary Louise Bishop Herbert passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the age of 95. She was born on June 4 1927 to Russel and Theresa Bishop and had one brother, Paul who was born 3 years later. She grew up during the depression and got engaged to her future husband, Henry Herbert. During World War II, he joined the Navy. When he returned from the war, they married. Mary Lou grew up in old New Orleans and stayed in the area for all of her 95 years. The most important thing of all to Mary Lou was her Christian faith. She now resides with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, King of Kings, Lord of Lords. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Herbert; her parents, Russel and Theresa Bishop; her daughter, Elizabeth Herbert Caccioppo; and brother, Paul John Bishop. She is survived by her nephews, David Bishop and Keith Butler. A visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 9am until graveside at 11am.
