With deep love and cherished memories, we honor the life of Mary Ann Guccione Jacobs, who went home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2026, after a very brief battle with Cancer. Mary Ann was a cherished wife and a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, whose unconditional love and spirit brought laughter and joy to everyone she met.
Our Mimi was a proud Italian matriarch who lived life fully and passionately. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and friends playing board games or dominoes or spending time with her beloved husband, dancing the night away surrounded by friends, laughter and music. Whether it was a family celebration or just an ordinary evening, she always found a way to turn every moment into something special.
Mary Ann was born on December 19, 1941 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Salvatore J. Guccione and Anna Amato Guccione. She graduated from Annunciation High School as a Valedictorian.
Mary Ann married Edward L. Jacobs Sr. on November 6, 1960, and they enjoyed 65 plus years together. Mary Ann and Eddie were members of the Village Church in Lacombe, Louisiana. Her life was spent participating in Mardi Gras Krewes as well as going to many social dances with her friends and playing in numerous groups for Bunco, Mahjong and Dominoes, always living life to its fullest.
Mary Ann worked at Crescent City, MRI for over ten years, where she never met a stranger. She was the friendliest, caring and most loving person, always laughing and sharing jokes. Mary Ann was an excellent cook, and her food was made with love for her family and friends.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Edward L. Jacobs, Sr.; her daughter, Bonnie Jacobs Cavignac (Craig); her son, Edward L. Jacobs Jr. (Katherine); and her son, Stephen R. Jacobs, (Felicia). Mary Ann has five grandchildren, Blaire Jacobs (Kristen), Colby Cavignac (Morgan), Edward L. Jacobs III “Bryce” (Sarah), Chase Jacobs and Chaz Cavignac (Shelby) and four great grandchildren, Edward L. Jacobs IV “Jax”, Palmer Marie Jacobs, Hattie Ray Cavignac and Betsy Ann Cavignac.
