Mary "Marie" S. Ferrara

Mary "Marie" S. Ferrara, age 97, peacefully entered eternal life on November 5, 2025, at her home in River Ridge, LA surrounded by family. Marie was born April 30, 1928, in Amite, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph S. Ferrara, her parents Sam and Jennie Schillage, and brother Angelo Schillage. Marie is survived by her sisters Catherine S. Banister, Rose Ann S. Flores, and Antoinette S. Bradshaw, sister-in-law Joan Schillage, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Marie was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church in River Ridge for 36 years. Special thanks to the personnel of The Blake at Colonial Club for their attentive care and to the staff of Notre Dame Hospice for their compassionate care. Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. until the start of the funeral Mass at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be held immediately following Mass in Metairie Cemetery.
