Mary was born in Hattiesburg, MS on Sept. 15, 1943 and moved to New Orleans shortly after. She grew up in New Orleans and graduated from Warren Easton High School. She went on to work in the banking industry before joining National Airlines and Pan American World Airways as a Reservations Sales Agent for 20 years.
She is survived by the love of her life, Don Rodosta. They were married for over 50 years and were completely inseparable. Never saw one without the other. They moved to Mandeville, LA in August 2005 where they still reside. Mary is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Tramell (Eddie), sister-in-law, Toni Rodosta, brother-in-law, Dave Nastasi and step grandson, Dominick Rodosta (Katie). As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Elizabeth Foster, her sister, Rosalind Nastasi and step son, Jeffery Rodosta.
Mary loved the outdoors, especially gardening. She was the one to cut the grass and do all the weeding. She was a fabulous cook eager to try new recipes and share with others. But her favorite was going out to eat. Eating breakfast out everyday no matter what. She also had a knack for interior decorating as evidenced by their beautiful home. She loved to read and had enough books to fill a library. Mary was a loving, caring person who will be missed by so many. She was taken far too soon.
Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 10am to 12pm followed by services in the chapel. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
