MaryAnna M. Lightner

MaryAnna M. Rausch Lightner died on November 19, 2016. Preceded in death by her parents John and Margaret Rausch and husband Louis A. Lightner, Sr. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, November 29, 1932 and lived in Orleans and Jefferson Parish for 46 years. She was employed by Hibernia National Bank for 25 years, was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (Camp Restore) and First English Lutheran Church, board member of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, volunteer with the Jefferson Parish Friends of the Library and a member of YMCA Silver Sneakers. Survivors are beloved children: Louis (Skip) Lightner, Sue Crise, Amy Rogers, Tina McMahon, Andrew Lightner and Julia Lightner: mother-in-law to Charlotte Lightner, Cindy Lightner and Jerry Crise. Her cherished siblings and spouses: John, Joyce, Henry and Sue Rausch and Elisabeth Scherer; also 13 beloved grandchildren, Anne, Jeffrey, Richard, Joe, Matthew, Daniel, Kenny, Helen, Jacob, Alexandra, Caitlyn, Andy and Austin, 5 great grandchildren; Hunter, Avery, Emily, Caitlyn and Amelia. Preceded in death by Toni Rausch, Richard Rausch and Ron Scherer. Also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, many friends and church family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3701 Cleary Avenue, Metairie, LA 70002 on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. Memorials may be made to First English Lutheran Church or Camp Restore.
